Atlanta’s Own Top Notch Swave Releases New Single “Stand on it”.

Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, in a neighborhood known as “Old Fourth Ward”, TopNotch Swave. The Atlanta based rapper has not always been known as TopNotch Swave. Originally, his moniker “Swave” was given to him by his late older sister, Keshawn Belcher. Unfortunately, Keshawn lost her life due to an inapt domestic violence dispute. Grief-stricken, Swave turned to poetry to help cope with his feelings. He soon began writing lyrics channeling Keshawn, who taught him to express emotions through his gift of gab.

Over the years, Swave’s epithet and lyricism went took him through a few transformations. In ninth grade, he chose to be known as “Kid Swave.” A year later, he dropped “Kid” and replaced it with “TopNotch”, as the stage name from being one half of “TopNotch Spittaz.” TopNotch Swave is now the president and one of the many artists under “FludGang Enterprises.”

TopNotch Swave live performances range from local to nationwide, including 3 different SXSW stages in 2015. In the summer of 2017, he successfully planned and put together his first show at DaWarehouseATL, headlining and bringing a crowd of 300+ people. In 2018, TopNotch Swave performed at the A3C NoDaesOff Stage and Auburn Festival. He’s also performed in cities such as Los Angeles, Orlando, Tampa, Miami, Mobile, Little Rock, Memphis, Muncie, Charlotte, Dallas, Houston, Austin, and Baltimore.

In 2018, TopNotch Swave released his project Free Swave. He followed with Mania in 2019, with not just a billboard, but a listening party that was standing-room only at Pegasus Lounge in Atlanta.

He’s gone viral a few times with a few tracks such as “Werk It”, “Beethoven”, and “Kaioken”.

TopNotch Swave has advertised his own name by branding his stage name on his shirts and wearing them everyday. He also sells his merchandise across the United States and overseas to countries such as, but not limited to: Japan, Australia, and Africa.

There’s so much more to learn about Swave, but following behind Keshawn’s music dreams, and with Salvatore Perigio, L-T Terror, FludGang, and many more by his side, using his own unique sound to create his own lane, he will become the next Atlanta legend.
